Slovak Paradise

Slovak Paradise is one of the most beautiful regions in Slovakia. You can walk through deep gorges or climb waterfalls with the help of ladders. What wonders does Slovak Paradise offer near our hotel and the village of Vernár? Here are a few tips:

Partisan bunker. This educational site consists of a restored “bunker” (a remnant of fortifications from World War II) and two information panels describing the construction of partisan bunkers during the Slovak National Uprising and events related to the uprising in Vernár and its surroundings.

Dobšiná Ice Cave. Due to its significance and unique formations, it has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2000. It’s only 12 km from our hotel. With its length and depth, it ranks among the largest ice caves in Europe.

The most beautiful viewpoint in Slovak Paradise is undoubtedly Tomášovský výhľad. It offers a great view into the Biely potok valley, the Hornád Gorge, and the High Tatras. You’ll need to hike uphill, but it’s an easy walk that takes about an hour. It's one of the most visited parts of the national park—and deservedly so.

Ski resort

The Vernár ski resort offers excellent skiing for beginners and advanced skiers. The total length of the ski slopes reaches up to 1400 m, with 4 ski lifts available. The slopes, of easy to moderate difficulty, are situated at altitudes between 800 and 1000 m. Beginner skiers can also take advantage of the ski school.
